It has been about two months since I started at Kaetsu, and I’m beginning to feel more connected to many of my teachers. However, I still struggle to remember their names—I’m really bad at remembering names!

One of the most interesting teachers is the Japanese teacher in my class. This teacher is very funny, so the class is always enjoyable, and I really love it. Usually, we follow a standard curriculum, but sometimes we do presentations, which I enjoy. Recently, we shared our favorite books. It was a lot of fun!

I also find my Science A class really interesting. Right now, we are observing many types of plants and writing reports about them. We have to draw the plants in detail, but I’m not very good at drawing, so I’m practicing. We will start observing insects soon, and I’m excited for that!

We have two math classes: algebra and geometry. Both are quite difficult, especially geometry. But I feel happy when I can solve a hard problem—it makes it fun.

Kaetsu has many more subjects like geography, chemistry, and others. Recently, we had our mid-term exams. I took tests in Japanese, algebra, geometry, geography, and chemistry. I did well in chemistry and Japanese, but the other subjects were difficult, so my scores weren’t so good. I want to improve and get better results on the final exams.

After school, I usually do my homework and study algebra and geometry. It’s tiring, but I’ll keep working hard to do better next time. Sometimes after school, I help out with mini school tours. It’s fun to help out—I even did it yesterday!

かえつに入学して約2ヶ月が経ち、たくさんの先生方に親しみを感じるようになってきました。でも、先生の名前を覚えるのがとても苦手なので、まだなかなか覚えられません。

一番印象的なのは、国語を教えてくれている先生です。その先生はとても面白くて、授業も楽しいので大好きです。普段は他の学校と同じような内容の授業をしますが、ときどきプレゼンテーションの授業もあって、私はそれが好きです。最近では「好きな本」について話しました。とても楽しかったです。

理科Aの授業もとても興味深いです。今はさまざまな植物を観察して、観察レポートを書いています。植物を細かく描くのですが、私は絵があまり得意ではないので練習中です。これからは昆虫の観察も始まる予定で、それを楽しみにしています。

数学の授業は、代数と幾何の2つがあります。どちらも難しいですが、特に幾何はとても難しいです。でも、難しい問題が解けたときは嬉しくて、それが楽しさにもなっています。

かえつには他にも、地理や化学などたくさんの授業があります。最近では中間テストがあり、国語・代数・幾何・地理・化学のテストを受けました。化学と国語は良い結果でしたが、代数・幾何・地理は難しくてあまり良くありませんでした。次の期末テストでは、もっと良い成績を取りたいと思っています。

放課後は、毎日宿題をしたり、代数や幾何の勉強をしたりしています。少し疲れますが、期末で良い成績を取るために頑張りたいです。ときどき、放課後に学校見学の手伝いをすることもあります。人の役に立つのは楽しくて、昨日も手伝いました。

今月の報告は以上です。来月は、かえつの体育祭について書く予定です。
